'Red Z & Green Z'

Guidelines for Product Use

For Spills:

• Follow institutional policy.
• Put on personal protective equipment.
• Open solidifier container. *Note: Use products without the wetting agent.
• Sprinkle Red-Z or Green-Z on the outside parameter of the spill and work your way inward. This procedure will prevent the spill from spreading.
• Allow the contents of the spill to solidify.
• Pick up the solidified spill with a shovel or similar device.
• Dispose of the solidified contents per local, state and federal regulations.
• Disinfect the area with an approved disinfectant.
• Remove and dispose of personal protective equipment per institutional policy.
• Wash hands.

For Collection Containers (e.g. Suction Canisters):

• Follow institutional policy.
• Put on personal protective equipment.
• Open solidifier container (e.g. cut spout tip). *Note: Use products with the wetting agent.
• Open collection container port and pour the recommended amount of Red-Z into the container.
• Close the container port.
• Allow the contents of the container to solidify.
• Dispose of the container per local, state and federal regulations.
• Remove and dispose of personal protective equipment per institutional policy.
• Wash hands.

For Biohazards Bags & Kick buckets

• Follow institutional policy.
• Put on personal protective equipment.
• Open solidifier container (e.g. cut spout tip). *Note: Use products with the wetting agent.
• Before using the bag or bucket, add the recommended amount of Red-Z to the bottom of the container.
• After using the bag or bucket, dispose of the waste per local, state and federal regulations.
• Remove and dispose of personal protective equipment per institutional policy.
• Wash hands.
