Before proceeding, please make yourself completely
familiar with this fine instrument. To maintain the unit's performance and
reliability please observe a few basic requirements.
Danger!
To reduce the risk of electrical shock:
1/ Never store, or use clipper near water, basins or toilets.
2/ Always unplug clipper from power supply when not actually
charging.
3/ Unplug unit before cleaning or removing blades.
Clipper use and maintenance
1. An initial charge of 12 to 15 hours is required. After that it will
take circa 4 to six hours to re-charge completely discharged ( used )
batteries.
2. Fully charged, a clipper will give a minimum 20 minutes continuous
operation.
3. Always leave clipper 'on charge' after each use. The power-supply unit
is designed for continuous operation without overcharging.
4. It is normal for the unit to become somewhat warm during charging and
typical usage.
5. Operate the unit without significant pressure against the skin.
6. After each use, clean the blade and re-oil with Wahl Clipper Oil by
issuing a droplet of oil between the tips of the blades while the unit is
running.
7. Do not use benzine, petrol, thinners or caustic cleaning fluids to
clean the unit.
8. Don't not use the clipper on hair that has been prepared with hairspray
or similar compounds.
9. Keep the charger cord straight, untwisted and free of
obstructions.
10. Use unit only on Australian 220/ 240volts A/C main power supply.
11. Do not drop the clipper as this will void warranty. Do not use blades
that have been damaged; or with teeth missing, as this may cause injury to
skin.
12. Always place plastic blade guard (supplied) over blade when clipper is
not in use. Store in a dry, safe place.
13. Periodically dip the blades into a shallow pan of blade oil, for a
short period, while unit is running to remove any dirt or hair
particles.
14. Feed blade through hair, to be removed, at a rate at which the unit
will cut easily. 'Feeding' it too fast may wedge clippings between the
blades causing them to cut improperly or even pull a patient's hair.
Removing and cleaning detachable blades.
Hold clipper firmly in one hand and, using the thumb of your other hand
push the blade away from the body of the clipper. The blade and mounting
plate (blade-set) will come off in one piece.
To remove hair particles from the blade use the brush
provided. Re-oil the blade with clipper oil. Before replacing assure that
the top blade move freely.
To replace the blade, place the hook at the bottom of
the blade-set into the notch in the clipper housing then pivot the blade
set toward the housing until it snaps into place.
